Meet Pastor Julie!

Although Pastor Julie comes from a long lineage of pastors, it took her quite a while to answer the call to ministry. An Ohio transplant, Julie attended Bowling Green State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a minor in Fine Arts, and a master’s degree in Reading Education. Upon graduation, she worked as the Prevention Coordinator for Madison County. Not long after that, she began teaching in Columbus City Schools where she taught for 21 years on the Hilltop.

As doors continued to open in the ministry, Julie decided to attend seminary. She received her MDIV with a specialization in Biblical Hebrew and Biblical Greek from MTSO (Methodist Theological School in Ohio), with of course the additional Presbyterian classes needed for PCUSA ordination. Raised in a PCUSA manse, it is no wonder Julie has served in churches most of her life.

Julie has two daughters, with whom she is thankful to be very close. It is in part due to this special bond and her background that nudges Julie to claim that working with youth and helping to build their faith has been among some of the most meaningful experiences in her ministry career. She is pleased to be called to a church that is willing to invest in children and youth in a way that they see they are valued.
