A Typical Day at Tiny Treasures
Greeting Time 9:00-9:10 (10-15 min.) Children arrive, put personal items away in their cubbies, wash hands, and join the class for a greeting/table activity.
Gathering Time 9:10-9:20 (10-15 min.) Children meet together, role is taken, weather, and calendar are included at this time. Songs and finger plays may accompany this time.
Centers 9:20-10:10 (45-50 min.) Children participate in learning centers. Children may choose from a variety of small group or individual activities. These activities might include: dramatic play, literacy table, blocks, math games, examining objects at a science table, art or craft activity, sand and water table, computer, books and listening center.
Clean up 10:10-10:20 (10 min.)
Circle Time 10:20-10:45 (20–25 min.) Circle time includes songs, finger-plays, stories, and discussion of weekly themes. The teacher and children work together to develop a sense of themselves as a unit. New activity themes are introduced. Children are encouraged to discuss new concepts. "Show and Tell" may take place at this time.
Hand Washing and Snack 10:45-11:00 (15-20 min.) We sit together and say a prayer before snacks.
Large Motor / Music 11:00-11:20 (20-30 min.) Children will have the opportunity to use their large and gross motor skills on the playground equipment, in the classroom, or in the gym.
Closing Circle/ Get ready to leave 11:20-11:30 (10-15 min.)
