Our Curriculum
The primary goal of the WPC Preschool is to stimulate each child's love of learning.
We provide a child-centered environment to enhance opportunities for children's problem solving and creative play. Teachers feel that every child is unique and special. We take the time to get to know them. Curriculum will be adjusted to meet individual needs, including special interests and strengths.
We provide a curriculum that recognizes that children are active participants in their learning experiences.
At Tiny Treasures Christian Preschool, we strive to have a developmentally appropriate program.
Our curriculum's emphasis is on the development of the whole child integrating physical, emotional, social, creativity, language skills, cognitive skills, and spiritual growth.
What does all that mean? It simply means as educators we need to think first about what children are like and then create an environment and experiences that are in tune with children's characteristics.
Children 3-6 learn far better through direct interactive experiences than through just listening to someone talk or paper and pencil tasks. They learn extraordinary amounts through play and exploration. Our program aims to develop the whole child through a play-based curriculum.
Therefore, the primary goal at Tiny Treasures Christian Preschool is to stimulate children's love of learning by.
Supporting physical growth: promoting large and small muscle development and providing sensory experiences.
Nurturing emotional and social growth: encouraging basic trust, autonomy, and helping the child with self-discipline, self-control, and self-esteem.
Enhancing creativity: exploring self-expressive materials, especially through the medium of art, dramatic dance and movement, and fostering creative play and thought.
Fostering language skills: introducing a comprehensive language program with an emphasis on literature.
Developing cognitive skills: providing units of study, which arouse children's interest and curiosity while teaching basic concepts.
Encouraging spiritual growth: developing a respect for all religions, and experiencing the development of Christian spiritual values using Bible stories, songs, poems, and prayers.
