Logos is Here!
The One Rule of LOGOS:
You are a child of God, and
I’m going to treat you that way!
Did you ever wonder why VBS is so fun? Or why children and youth come back from retreats, camp, or the mission trip so inspired and feeling closer to God and their Christian friends? The key seems to be relationships. WPC launched a new relationship-nurturing ministry in January called Logos. Logos has been around since 1957, building relationships that transform lives and churches through quality Christian nurture. "Logos" is the Greek word for "word." The program is aptly named! Jesus was named "The Word" in the Gospel of John and is the personification of the wisdom of God.
Our Spring session of LOGOS is up and running each Wednesday evening January 24 - March 24, except on Ash Wednesday, February 17. Each week during the 8 week session children will experience options related to four parts: A Family Style Dinner, Bible Study, Recreation, and Worship Skills for every age group. There are options for youth and adults that are a bit more flexible and targeted to particular interests.
Children arrive in the Office for check at 5:15 and go straight to their Recreation Option. Play! Dinner is next at 5:50 when we enjoy our Family Time with Table Parents. Eat! After dinner the children rotate to their Bible Study and Worship Skills workshops and we are ready for pick up at 7:30. Learn!
Little LOGOS is a program for younger siblings of participants whose parents are volunteering in the program. They eat dinner and have planned activities that follow the bible study theme as well!
Youth options are very flexible and include dinner, New Song band practice, a program called “Just Eating,” and opportunities to serve as youth volunteers working in the kitchen or with the children. Register at the LOGOS table.
Adults can arrive in time to enjoy dinner at 6:00 and conversation with other adults. What a treat after working all day! Then adults have several options including enjoying a small group study, a Lenten study, or volunteering with the LOGOS program.
